Rapport bescherming namen en graden hoger onderwijs - Amsterdam International University B.V.
De Inspectie van het Onderwijs houdt toezicht op het terecht gebruik van de namen universiteit en hogeschool en het terecht verlenen van graden in het hoger onderwijs. De inspectie heeft onderzoek gedaan bij Amsterdam International University B.V. (ook handelend als Amsterdam International College) naar naleving van artikel 1.22 en 15.7 van de Wet op het hoger onderwijs en wetenschappelijk onderzoek (WHW).
Op basis van dit onderzoek stelt de inspectie vast dat Amsterdam International University B.V. onterecht de naam universiteit voert en onterecht associate degree en bachelorgraden heeft verleend. Dit rapport wordt aangeboden aan de Minister van OCW, die kan beslissen een bestuurlijke boete op te leggen.

The Inspectorate of Education supervises the correct use of the names university and university of applied sciences and the justified issuing of degrees in the Netherlands. The inspectorate has investigated compliance of Amsterdam International University B.V. (also operating under the name Amsterdam International College) with section 1.22 and section 15.7 of the Higher Education and Research Act (WHW).
We conclude that Amsterdam International University B.V. illegally calls itself a university in the Netherlands and has illegally issued associate degrees and bachelor degrees. This report will be presented to the Minister of Education, who may decide to impose a fine.
